Manucurist has always been committed to acting on brand values that support a better, more sustainable beauty industry. This is visible in the choosing of our ingredients and our final product formulations, which are and always will be, 100% cruelty-free and vegan. We are proud to announce that we have officially been certified Cruelty-Free and Vegan by PETA through the Beauty without Bunnies program … let's talk about what this means for us and the beauty industry as a whole.

What is PETA?

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) is the largest internationally known and recognized animal rights organization with more than 3 million members and supporters world wide. As a nongovernmental organization (NGO) they are committed to “ending abusive treatments of animals in business and society and promoting consideration of animal interests in everyday decision making and general policies and practices”.

Beauty Without Bunnies

In connection with the beauty space, PETA’s Global Beauty Without Bunnies program seeks to validate and promote cruelty-free cosmetic and personal care brands, as well as encourage companies to adopt animal-friendly testing methods. On their website you can find a list of companies committed to being cruelty-free and a list of companies who still use animal testing. In order to be listed by PETA or use the “Animal Test-Free” or “PETA Approved Global Animal Test Policy” logo, companies must commit to “never conduct, commission, pay for, or allow tests on animals at any phase of development for both ingredients and final products''. In addition, companies must have agreements with their ingredient suppliers that ensure the same for all ingredients purchased by the company or brand.

Certified to Create Better Beauty

Third-party certifications are one of the ways that companies seek to offer validation and transparency to their client and customer base. In this way, consumers can make more informed decisions about the products they buy and support companies that prioritize animal welfare. The number of consumers looking for forms of validation when it comes to the beauty products they are purchasing has rapidly grown in recent years, and this increase in demand for certified cruelty-free and vegan products will add pressure for more companies to adopt these practices… in turn, creating a wave of change for a more ethical and sustainable beauty industry. Manucurist is happy to support this change and share our transparent initiatives🌸
