I've never used gel polish before - is it tricky?

Anyone can apply Green Flash™, including complete beginners!

If you know how to use regular nail polish you can use Green Flash™: you apply the base coat, colour and top coat in exactly the same way. The only difference is that you cure your nails under the lamp!

If you know how to use gel polish, there are a few points to note. Applying Green Flash™ is more like applying regular nail polish: there's no need to remove oil first and the polish is not buildable like gel polish, so you need to get it right from the start.

We recommend that you treat it like regular nail polish that has to be dried under a lamp!

Is Green Flash™ compatible with other brands?

Unfortunately not, each formula is unique and made from different ingredients. Our Green Flash™ products should always be used with other Green Flash™ products to ensure the best results. You will need (at least):

One Green Flash™ base coat
One Green Flash™ colour
One Green Flash™ top coat
An LED lamp with an output of at least 24W

For effective removal, we highly recommend using Green Flash™ plant-based Nail Polish Remover and the accompanying nail clips.

Points to note:
Using a Green Flash™ colour with a base coat and top coat from another gel/regular nail polish brand will not work.
Using a Green Flash™ base coat with a colour and top coat from another gel/regular nail polish brand will not work. etc.

What is the difference between a traditional gel polish and Green Flash™?

The "peel-off" removal: it can be removed at home without acetone, rubbing or filing it off!

It dries instantly: using an LED lamp with an output of at least 24W at a frequency that is less harmful to nails than UV lamps!

Can using Green Flash™ cause allergies?

Green Flash™ meets European standards and does not contain any sensitising substances like the monomers and methyl acrylate found in many traditional gel polishes. Many customers have testified that they have been able to use our products safely, even if they were allergic to other types of gel polish. However, allergic reactions are not specifically related to chemical ingredients, so we cannot guarantee that you won't have a reaction to another ingredient, even a natural one. Can I use a Green™ treatment base coat under a Green Flash™ polish?

Unfortunately not, our Green™ treatment base coats are only compatible with products from our Green™ range. You have to use a Green Flash™ base coat for a Green Flash™ manicure. But you can apply a treatment base coat between Green Flash™ manicures to give your nails a little extra TLC!

How can I stop brush marks from appearing in my Green Flash™ polish?

To stop brush marks from appearing in your Green Flash™ polish, you need to apply it in very thin coats using no more than 3 brushstrokes! To get the right amount of product on your brush, scrape the brush stick against the inside neck of the bottle to remove any excess.
Then wipe it from one side of the brush. You should be left with a small drop on the tip of the brush! Use one drop of polish for each finger.

How can I give my Green Flash™ manicure a shine boost after a few days?

If you are wearing Green Flash™ polish, you can apply a coat of our Color Refresher on top of it after a few days. You don't need to cure it, as it air-dries.

How do I apply my gel polish at home?

For a clean, glossy, long-lasting result, it all comes down to proper nail prep and thin layers.

Prep your nails: file to your desired shape, gently push back cuticles, lightly buff the surface, then cleanse.

Apply a thin layer of Green Flash™ Base Coat and cure under a LED lamp.

Apply your powder pink color in 1 to 2 thin coats (2 thin coats give a more even finish), curing between each layer.

Finish with Green Flash™ Top Coat for up to 12 days of wear, or Xtrem Flash™ Top Coat for up to 21 days and a plump gel-like shine. Cure, then apply cuticle oil.

Tip: remove any excess polish before curing for perfectly clean edges.

How long does gel polish last and how can I make it last longer?

Under normal conditions, a Green Flash™ manicure lasts up to 21 days with Xtrem Flash™ Top Coat, depending on your nail prep and daily activities (water exposure, cleaning, sports, manual work…).If your polish lifts too quickly, it’s usually due to one of the following: application on cuticles or skin (causes lifting at the edges) insufficient nail cleansing layers applied too thick in complete curing or an unsuitable LED lampBest practices to maximize wear: properly cleanse the nail before apply thin, even layers avoid getting polish on the skin limit impact and wear gloves for household tasks (especially during the first 24 hours) limit impact and wear gloves for household tasks (especially during the first 24 hours)

How do I remove my gel polish without damaging my nails?

With Green Flash™, removal is quick, easy and gentle on your nails. Soak a cotton pad with Green Flash™ gentle remover, place it on the nail using a removal clip, and leave on for a few minutes.The polish will lift off naturally. If needed, gently remove any residue with a wooden stick. No need to rub, file or peel: the formula is designed for easy at-home removal. Finish with a cuticle oil to nourish and enhance your nails. Tip: highly pigmented shades may require a slightly longer removal time.

Gray is my favorite color

"Gray is my favorite color so I had to try this when trying this Green Flash Gel system. It looked amazing despite some newbie application issues (have to move a little fast, the polish isn't as smooth to apply as laquer). My polish RARELY lasts 3-4 days without chipping, no matter the brand, I refuse to do traditional gel, my nails are already not great. With this system my polish lasted 8 days and only had two TINY chips on my middle finger nails, which is odd since usually my chips are my index fingers. I probably could have gone a bit further but I was curious to try my other colors. Removal was AMAZINGLY easy, it curled right up. If you use the Extreme flash you need to leave the remover for 10 min for sure. I'm so glad for this system, though my nails seem a bit brittle again but I don't think it's this polish. I'm going to try to keep polish on for a few weeks (back to back manis) to see if that helps my nails by protecting them. Because I think my frequent washing from chores and cooking are my issues, not the polish. I have my third mani on from this system and on day 4 and they look perfect. I even put stamped designs on between the base and top coat and I'm assuming the designs will come off easily since the remover helped with clean up when my design went onto my skin. If I'm right, this system will let me use all of my stamping plates again as I couldn't see putting in the time for manis that lasted 3 days! Maybe 5. Now? Bring on the designs! I'm starting a new job soon so I might have to just use the polish alone and that's ok because the solid colors look great on their own. The sheer are a bit difficult so far but I think I'll get the hang of it."

Great color, more difficult to apply

"Beautiful color, I also am a huge fan of the Manucurist’s green flash nail polish overall and the starting kit with Poppy Red and Hortencia never gave me any trouble but with this particular colour it doesn’t give me a clean glossy finish no matter what I do - it’s always as if I went to bed with nails not dried enough and as if the sheets left their mark. Maybe someone could give me a hint on what I could do to improve it?"
